Complete Plumbing, Heating, Kitchen and Washroom Installation
S Haigh Plumbing and Heating recently completed the plumbing and heating elements of a commercial fit-out in Elland, Huddersfield, creating modern and practical facilities for staff throughout the premises.
The project involved work across several areas of the building, including the staff kitchen and canteen, toilets, accessible facilities and shower room, as well as installing new heating and hot water services.
It was a varied project that required us to consider not only how each area would look, but how it would stand up to regular use in a busy commercial environment.
New Staff Kitchen & Canteen
A major part of the project was the creation of the new staff kitchen and canteen area.
We completed the necessary plumbing and services for the kitchen, which now features a long run of contemporary dark units, contrasting worktops, sink and preparation areas.
Tiling was installed around the work surfaces to provide a practical, easy-to-maintain finish, while the completed kitchen gives employees a clean and modern space for breaks and food preparation.
The new heating and hot water system also ensures the canteen and associated facilities have the services they need throughout the working day.
Staff Toilets
Downstairs, we installed new staff toilet facilities, including the necessary plumbing, sanitaryware and finishing work.
The compact WC shown in the project photographs makes efficient use of the available space, with a concealed cistern and wall-mounted flush plate helping to create a simple, uncluttered finish.
Marble-effect wall tiling was used around the sanitaryware to provide a smart and durable surface suitable for a commercial environment.
Accessible Toilet Facilities
Accessibility was another important consideration.
We fitted a dedicated disabled toilet, complete with the necessary support rails around the WC and basin to make the facilities easier and safer to use.
Large-format marble-effect wall panels provide a clean, modern appearance while also creating surfaces that are practical to maintain.
The result is a spacious and functional facility designed around accessibility rather than treating it as an afterthought.
New Staff Shower
The project also included the installation of a new staff shower facility.
We fitted a large shower enclosure with a rainfall-style shower head and separate handheld shower, creating a practical facility for employees to use at work.
The shower area was finished with large wall panels and contrasting black-framed glass, giving what is ultimately a hardworking commercial facility a much more contemporary appearance.

Behind the finished rooms was a substantial amount of plumbing and heating work.
We installed and adapted the services required to provide heating, hot water and water supplies to the new facilities, making sure everything worked together as part of the wider commercial fit-out.
